Art Classes & Workshops
Explore art, creativity and making in a welcoming studio environment. Through classes, workshops and creative experiences, you’ll have the opportunity to learn new techniques, experiment with a variety of materials and enjoy the simple pleasure of creating.

Suitable for all experience levels, beginners are welcome – sessions combine expert guidance with the freedom to explore your own interests and ideas.

Unless otherwise stated, all classes and workshops are for 16 years +. If a class or workshop is for a young person below 16 years they must be accompanied by a paying adult.

We hope in the future we may be able to extend our offerings to other age groups, however not at this moment.

In this friendly, relaxed workshop, you’ll create a painted portrait of your pet using a photo you provide.
With guidance throughout, you’ll be supported to create a piece you’ll be proud to take home, whatever your level of experience.
No experience is needed – just send a photo of your pet at least 3 days before the session and we’ll have everything ready for you.
Enjoy a creative evening in a welcoming atmosphere, meet other creative people and leave with a unique portrait to treasure.

Textile Workshop

Stitched Autumn Pumpkins

Join Sue, a local textile artist, for a relaxed and creative morning making your own handsewn fabric pumpkins.

Youโ€™ll learn simple sewing techniques to create your pumpkins, then have fun choosing from a beautiful selection of fabrics and embellishments to give it your own unique character.

No previous sewing experience is needed – Sue will guide you through each step, making this a lovely workshop for beginners or anyone who enjoys getting creative with textiles.

Come along, slow down, get creative and leave with charming handmade pumpkin decorations to enjoy throughout autumn and beyond.




Printing Workshop

Beginners Linocut Printmaking

Join Rosie, a local Artist and experienced workshop facilitator, to explore the exciting art of linocut printmaking. You will learn how to design, carve and print from your own lino block with beautiful results.

This calm and well-supported workshop is perfect for beginners to printmaking or anyone with a love of making looking to try something new.

Rosie will provide lots of images for inspiration, and will guide you through the process step by step, no previous experience needed. Be warned – linocut is highly addictive!





Silversmith Workshop

Hammered Silver Ring Workshop

Join Sian from Cumbria Creative Workshops for a creative silversmithing session in which you will make your own sterling silver band ring with a beautiful hammered finish. Using traditional techniques, youโ€™ll learn how to shape, solder and texture thick silver wire (4x2mm) into a bold, hand-hammered ring of your own.
In this relaxed, hands-on three-hour session, youโ€™ll be guided through the ring-making process, from measuring and shaping the band to hammering in its distinctive faceted texture. A lovely, accessible introduction to silversmithing, and a striking piece youโ€™ll wear every day.

Seed Pod Pots

Explore sculpting, shaping and texturing techniques while creating a collection of small seed pod-inspired pots.

Taking inspiration from the natural forms, patterns and textures found in seed heads and pods, you’ll learn how to build expressive ceramic forms full of character.

Your pieces will be fired twice and finished with an effective wiped-back underglaze surface before being ready for collection.

Clay Workshop

Sgraffito Decorated Slab-Built Pot

An ambitious and rewarding workshop exploring slab-building and surface decoration.

Create a cylindrical ceramic pot before learning the beautiful technique of sgraffito, where layers of coloured slip are carefully scratched back to reveal your design.

This workshop offers a wonderful introduction to creating functional pottery with detailed decorative surfaces. Your pot will be fired twice before collection.

Children’s Art Party Sessions

Looking for something a little different for a birthday celebration? Our children’s art party sessions offer a creative experience where young artists can explore, make and enjoy creating together.

Choose a theme and we’ll build the session around it, with a mixture of painting, drawing and hands-on making activities designed to spark imagination and creativity. From animals and nature to fantasy worlds and favourite interests, each session is tailored to your group and encourages children to enjoy the process of creating while making something special to take home.

Led by artist and educator Becky Gibbs, sessions are relaxed, engaging and suitable for all abilities. The focus is on creativity, exploration and having fun making art in a welcoming studio environment.

Suitable for ages 8+

When I’m not teaching workshops and classes, you’ll often find me making and selling my own ceramics from the studio shop. Inspired by the landscapes of the Lake District, my work includes carved pottery, sculptural forms and handmade pieces created in small batches.
